Day 3 in Jerusalem and The Sea of Galilee

Since we rented a car we decided to take a 2 hour trip and see the Sea of Galilee. What we really wanted to visit is the river Jordon and Bethlehem but both of these place are on the West Bank. The car was not covered with insurance in the West Bank so we decided that it would be best to be safe and just go to the places we will have no problems.

The surrounding area near the Sea

We drove around the Sea until we reached Capernaum. The place where Jesus met Peter Andrew and caught the big catch. Now it is a national park and an Orthodox Monetary on the site.

In the evening we made our way to the Western Wall in the Jewish Quarter. As we entered there was a security check point. I was a little surpised by that.

I got to pray and also place prayer request notes in the wall. It was an amazing prayer time with God.
I was surrounded by women of all ages who were crying and reading their Jewish prayers.

This a part of the wall of Temple but it is private and airconditioned.

We heard about this dates bread and we decided to give it a try. Not to bad.

This is the Damascus Gate it is a very busy gate, you can see locals, tourists, passing through the gate. There is also a lot of street food.

Tonight Gary wanted to buy this potato fries on a stick, it cost 5 nis ( new Israeli shekels).  After waiting in the line for a while, the guy selling approached Gary asking what he wanted, Gary asked "how much is it?" The guy responded 15 nis. Gary started to walk away, and the guy shouted " but 5 shekels for you" . Can you guess what happened next? Gary walked away. I wish you could have seen his face, he was not happy.

This happens so much here, depending on how you look the price can be higher or lower on anything. Negotiation, haggling is needed in this place for sure.

You can see the potato fires place right at the fate covered with orange. :-)
