Day 1

How does one pack for 4 people for 2 months in Romania?

This is the question that has been on my mind for the past weeks. How can you prepare three suitcases and three carryons for 2 months. One might think it is an easy task, but when you think about it is not so easy. As a mother I am thinking of all the stuff my boys would need while we are away, all the stuff they will miss while we are away. I worry, I calculate exactly what is worth taking and what is not.

This concept of luggage and stuff made me think of God's constant provision in my life. God has provided me with life, a Romanian family that cares for one another, a husband that loves me and loves the Lord, two boys who are my world, and good health. The truth is "stuff" is temporary but God's provision and love is forever.

Today, I begin the day cleaning the house, shorting cloths, making beds, writing a funeral sermon that I will be officiating at 11:45. A pastor never stops.  At 3:45 pm Martin and I will make our way to the airport.

We fly IcelandAir, to Munich Germany where we will be staying for a week with my sister Ramona. After a week, Gary and Everett will come and pick us up with a brand new car from Sweden.  The Volvo car will take us to Romania.
